Carbon Neutral Certified

Rhino has made a commitment to the environment to offset our Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions to help limit global warming and climate change due to the effects of our day to day operations.

We have partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to help us to gather the data and information, to calculate our carbon footprint, to produce a Carbon Emissions Report, and for them to certify our Ellesmere Port manufacturing site as a Carbon Neutral Britain certified carbon neutral site. By identifying and monitoring our carbon emissions we are able to actively target future plans to make reductions with the aim of net zero across all sites.  In the meantime we are making a financial contribution to offset our previous emissions and help limit our environmental impact.

Rhino Products has offset its scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions by 359.78 Tonnes CO2e via the Climate Fund™ Portfolio of verified carbon offsetting projects around the world based on our emissions during 2023. We look forwards to continually supporting this vital work.

Environmental

We are proud to have achieved ISO14001 management system for our Deeside production facility, confirming the commitment from senior management to control our environmental impacts and continuously improve.

This involves reporting on numerous factors, such as energy consumption / efficiency and water management. We highlight environmental risks and opportunities for the complete project life cycle from design concept right through to final disposal.

Environmental - continuous improvement

Here are just a few of the changes we have made recently to help improve our environmental performance:

  • Replacing all lighting in our Deeside factory and offices with LEDs as part of a recent refurbishment. The production area lights are sensor operated to save energy. We have also recently installed a low energy boiler.
  • Our new purpose-built factory in Ellesmere Port is highly insulated to the latest standards, with modern heating/ventilation systems and lighting – all reducing our footprint.
  • Rhino is dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint by no longer using heat film on our packages, reducing both our energy consumption and levels of waste for our customers.
  • We continuously update our product range with ESG in mind, reducing our energy and packaging footprint further by rationalising our range to reduce unnecessary SKUs.
